A template is a pre-approved message format that you use to initiate conversations with customers. There are three categories, each for a different business purpose.
Category | What it is for | Examples |
Promotional | Marketing: offers, launches, campaigns, anything intended to drive sales | A seasonal sale, a new product announcement |
Transactional | Event-driven updates that provide utilitarian value for the receiver | Order confirmation, delivery alert, payment receipt, appointment reminder |
Authentication | One-time passwords and verification codes | A login code, a transaction OTP |
Every delivered template message is charged at the rate for its category. Conversational replies inside the 48-hour window are free.
