How to Create and Manage Arattai Mini Apps

A mini app is a lightweight web experience that opens inside Arattai. Bring your existing mobile-friendly web application in as a mini app, and customers can browse a collection, check a booking or open a dashboard without ever leaving the chat or being handed off to a browser.


How to Create a Mini App  

  1. Got to Mini apps

  2. From the Mini apps list, select Create.

  3. Enter the app name, app details and target URL.

  4. Select Save to create your mini app.


How Customers Can Reach a Mini App  

  • Pinned to your chat: a shortcut in your business's chat view that customers can open any time.

  • As a button on a template or display message: a Mini app button opens it directly from the message.

  • From a link or QR code you share: accessible from outside Arattai entirely.


How to Pin, Unpin and Reorder Mini Apps  

  1. To pin, select the mini app and choose the numbers to pin it to. You can do this straight after creating it, or later from the number details view.

  2. The order of the mini apps you pin on a number is what the customer sees in your business chat. To reorder, drag a pinned mini app in the list.

  3. To unpin, use the same control. The mini app is removed from the customer-facing view but keeps its configuration.



NotesNote: A number cannot have more than five pinned mini apps. If you hit the limit, unpin one to pin a different mini app.

How to Edit or Delete a Mini App  

  • To edit: Open the mini app from the list. If it is currently pinned, unpin it first, then update the name, details or target URL and save.

  • To delete: Open the mini app, choose Edit, scroll down and select Delete mini app. This is permanent. Check where it is pinned and which templates use it before you do, a template button pointing at a deleted mini app stops working.


Sharing a Mini App Outside the Chat  

Each mini app has a permalink per number that you can find in the mini app details view. Use them anywhere you would use a normal link or QR code, on your website, in an email, on printed material, in a campaign. Opening the link takes the customer into the mini app inside Arattai.

You can add launch parameters to the link to open the mini app in a particular state, for example, on a specific product or booking.
